This single cask Highland single malt Scotch whisky from the Ardmore distillery was distilled in July 2008 and matured initially in an American oak cask before it was finished in a Port wine pipe. It was bottled in 2017 at 46% ABV by The Vintage Malt Whisky Co. for its series The Cooper’s Choice, with an outturn of just 420 bottles.
Nose: Light oak spice as it opens, followed by red fruit jam, hazelnut and vanilla.
Palate: Summer fruit tart, refreshing tangerine, sweet plums with hints of cedar, cocoa and subtle earthy salinity.
Finish: Warming and quite intense with a slight tingle of spice.
