It’s another fabulous batch of Blanton’s Original Single Barrel. This particular bourbon was matured in a single barrel, #549 if you were curious, and as with all Original Single Barrel releases, was matured in the legendary Warehouse H. It was dumped from the barrel on 29 July 2019, bottled up at 46.5% ABV. Always a brilliant bourbon, this one.
Nose: Waxy citrus peel, honeycomb and spicy oak, with some chocolate marble cake in there too.
Palate: Milk chocolate praline, chewy toffee and orange chocolate, candied ginger and a heap of baking spice.
Finish: Pecan pie and vanilla ice cream.
