A single cask Islay malt here from Caol Ila! Having rested in a single hogshead for over a decade, Chorlton Whisky bottled it up at 12 years old, with 229 bottles yielded at 57.8% ABV. There’s heaps of citrus and stone fruit to be found among the smoke in this one.
Nose: Salted caramel, rhubarb crumble and maritime smoke, with notes of sea-washed pebble.
Palate: Smoky tea and lemon curd, alongside fragipane, shortbread and nectarine.
Finish: Burnt pastry and toasted nuts, with a pinch of sea salt and candied citrus.
