20 year old Clynelish, drawn from a single cask that was laid down in September 1995 and cracked open in August 2016. This was independently bottled by Signatory and treated very well indeed – just look at the handsome Ibisco decanters the whisky has been bottled in!
Nose: Waxy peels, camphor, Sherried malt and some cedar spice.
Palate: Sherry appears at the fore, along with a light waft of coastal smoke. Soon enough it delves into deep wells of toffee and milk chocolate.
Finish: Creamy malt on the finish, with a final pinch of sea salt.
