Single malt from Islay’s Bowmore, distilled back in 1990 and left to age in a hogshead cask until 2018, when it was bottled with an outturn of 200 bottles. It was named Earth, Wind, Fire! as a hint towards its flavour profile, but now we can’t get by Earth, Wind & Fire out of our heads.
Nose: Rock pools, rye bread with salted butter, a flutter of florals and some caramelised dates.
Palate: Citrus elements begin to come through on the palate, though salinity remains at the fore. Crunchy brown sugar and coffee beans, too.
Finish: Very slightly meaty on the finish, with lasting smoke.
