Celebrated for their apple based drinks, Lambig and Pommeau de Bretagne, Distillerie des Menhirs also produces whisky using the local buckwheat! Grey Rock is made with buckwheat (30%), barley and maize. Eddu means ’buckwheat’ in Breton.
Eddu Grey Rock
Nose: Peppery, perfumed apples and vanilla custard with some soothing wheat but still quite feisty.
Palate: Fizzy apple sweets, sweet oaky peach, vanilla essence, hot and sweet.
Finish: More grain and spice character come through for a good finale.
