A stunningly well-aged grain whisky here from Girvan! Distilled all the way back in 1964, this Lowlander spent over half a century (!) slumbering in a single cask. Eventually, after 55 years had passed, Berry Bros. & Rudd bottled the whisky for its Exceptional Casks series, with 84 bottles released at 45.6% ABV. An exceptional cask indeed!
Nose: This exceptional Single Grain from Girvan’s first year of production gives rich waves of vanilla and nuts surrounded by fresh apple and oak resin.
Palate: The palate is lively but layered with more vanilla, cinnamon and orange citrus bursting through.
Finish: The finish is so well paced and long leaving a wonderful impression of sophistication and maturity.
