An interesting whisky from Swiss distiller Langatun, Jacob’s Dram has been aged in a cask which previously held Pinot Noir. The whisky is named for Jakob Baumberger, founder of the distillery, and courtesy of the cask it boasts quite the flavour profile.
Nose: Fresh toast with oodles of strawberry jam, with nougat and Danish pastries.
Palate: A viscous mouthfeel supported by notes of various berry jams, dark chocolate-covered almonds, floral honey and lots of dried fruit.
Finish: A slightly syrupy finish with a trace of nutty bitterness.
