Single grain from the Strathclyde Distillery, independently bottled by Douglas Laing for the Old Particular range. After 28 years slumbering in a single refill barrel, from August 1990 to May 2019, this whisky was kicked out of its wooden bed and into 165 bottles, presented at cask strength.
Nose: Custard Creams, slightly leafy hints of forest floor, caramelised nuts.
Palate: A burst of citrus freshness, followed by more biscuity notes and a hint of ginger heat.
Finish: Lasting chewy toffee sweetness balanced by cinnamon and bitter chocolate.
