This is the staggering 2012 edition of Yamazaki Bourbon Barrel – a rich Japanese single malt aged exclusively in ex-bourbon casks. Very creamy and, at 48%, rather intense too!
Yamazaki Bourbon Barrel 2012 (48%)
Nose: Rich spices and hints of potpourri. Candied lemon and honey. Pralines, allspice and vanilla.
Palate: Buttery, spicy palate. Quite tropical too, with notes of desiccated coconut and peach segments in syrup. Toasted spice and Demerara sugar.
Finish: Honeyed finish. Pralines, freshly grated nutmeg.
