A limited edition bottling of Balcones Texas Rye Cask Strength, released to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the distillery! It’s distilled exclusively from rye, including raw elbon grain from Texas as well as crystal, chocolate, and roasted rye varieties. Aged in new, charred oak barrels, the whiskey has been bottled at a burly 62.3% ABV, so expect big, bold spicy notes galore with a hefty helping of chocolate.
Nose: Tinned pear and old leather armchair, with roasted coffee bean, a touch of apple skin and a big hit of spicy rye bread.
Palate: Oak spice develops into black pepper, bittersweet dark chocolate, cinnamon and more rye warmth.
Finish: Mint chocolate tempered by a touch of vanilla creaminess, with lingering peppery rye.
