One of two bottlings released to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Knockdhu Distillery, anCnoc 16 Year Old Cask Strength was matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks and bottled at a cask strength 56.3% with an outturn of 500 bottles. The packaging, which includes a celebratory copper lid, was designed to tell a story about the distillery’s heritage.
Nose: Vanilla ice cream, orchard fruit and nutmeg, with butterscotch and coconut husk underneath.
Palate: Black peppercorn and ginger root bring warmth and spice which is tempered by soft toffee, creamy vanilla and apple crumble.
Finish: Sweet cereals and milk chocolate linger.
