A Hunter Laing bottling of Bowmore single malt, matured in a refill hogshead for 21 years. This was distilled on the Isle of Islay in December 1996, and left to mature until March 2018, when it was bottled with an outturn of 300 bottles for the Old Malt Cask range.
Nose: Fennel and sea salt, with a touch of cantaloupe underneath.
Palate: Sponge cake and oat biscuits as it opens, with slowly developing peat smoke.
Finish: A hint of ash lingers on the finish.
