The Buffalo Trace Single Oak Project was a fascinating undertaking from the Kentucky distillers which investigated the variables of bourbon production. This includes details about the cask, including which part of the tree it came from, the thickness of the wood grain, how long the staves were seasoned for and the char level, as well as entry proof and mash bill of the bourbon, and even the position in the warehouse! There were 192 different whiskeys released for the project. The Buffalo Trace Single Oak Project Tasting Set features 20 x 3cl drams of whiskey from the project, each one from a different bottle.
