This 23 year old Clynelish was distilled back in October of 1995, and was left to mature in a single hogshead for nearly a quarter of a century! This single malt was drawn from its cask after 23 years, bottled for The Single Malts of Scotland series, with a limited 231 bottles released at 56.2% ABV.
Nose: Caramel shortbread, buttery pear tart and Toffee Crisp, with a hint of oak char.
Palate: Waxy citrus peel, almond pastries and barley sugar, with apple compote and oak spice.
Finish: Earthy oak and vanilla pod, with toasted and buttered sourdough.
