Single cask Japanese single malt from the little-known Shinshu distillery. It distilled in 2013 (a short while after Shinshu reopened following a period of inactivity) and matured in a bourbon barrel until it was bottled in 2016 in celebration of Number One Drinks Company’s 10th Anniversary. Here’s to many more years, chaps!
Nose: Fresh and fruity, with notes of pear drops, candied pineapple and juicy barley. A touch of violet petal follows.
Palate: Red liquorice, green apple and white grapes. Still packed with robust malt notes.
Finish: Very slightly peppery.
