An indie Croftengea here, which began its life over at Loch Lomond in April 2007. The peaty whisky slumbered in a single bourbon hogshead for over a decade, bottled a month before its 13th birthday in March 2020. The 12 year old single malt was released as part of A.D. Rattray’s Cask Collection, with 270 bottles presented at 54.7% ABV.
Nose: A flinty mineral note supports savoury fresh herbs and tomato jam.
Palate: Gentle smokiness throughout notes of menthol, charred stone fruit and citrus peel.
Finish: Salted nuts and clove-studded orange on a smoky finish.
