Unveiled in late 2015, this is a limited edition expression from the excellent Deanston distillery in the Highland region, matured for 20 years in ex-Oloroso Sherry casks and bottled at cask strength. Loads of chewy raisin and dark-chocolate-coated peanuts notes here – excellent stuff as ever from Deanston.
Nose: Sultana, raisin, rum cake dotted with cherries and a hint of festive spices.
Palate: Chocolate peanuts, Mocha, candied ginger, sugared orange peels. Raisins continue to develop on the mid-palate.
Finish: Warming and long.
