An indie single malt from the Dufftown Distillery, which is something of a rarity! This one was distilled in 2009, and then left to mature in a pair of bourbon barrels for a whole decade. Eventually, in 2020 Càrn Mòr bottled up the Speysider for its Strictly Limited series, with an outturn of 470 bottles at 47.5% ABV.
Nose: Buttered banana bread and cut grass, with zingy apple skin and pear and almond tart.
Palate: Milk chocolate orange alongside oily malt, with passion fruit cream bringing fruitiness.
Finish: Lime and coconut sponge cake, with zesty lime jelly in there alongside vanilla icing.
