This batch of 12 year old Elijah Craig Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey was bottled at a barrel proof (or cask strength) of 64% abv. A truly stunning expression, with everything you want from barrel strength, well-aged bourbon – intensity, warmth and a whole lot of flavour.
Nose: Robust and spicy with toasted oak, caramelised fruits and sweet vanilla fudge.
Palate: Big, full and balanced with oak, maple, pecan and pears and plenty of anise.
Finish: Very long with oak-driven dark caramels.
