This is a barrel strength bottling of Elijah Craig bourbon – these are very popular indeed, boasting a full-bodied flavour profile and very generous ABVs. Add a few drops of water to help unlock the deep notes of vanilla and hot cinnamon.
Elijah Craig Barrel Proof (70.1%)
Nose: Toasted walnuts, peppery oak, a core of orange chocolate runs through the centre.
Palate: Caramel, dark chocolate-coated espresso beans, popcorn and black pepper.
Finish: Burnt sugar and drying oak spice.
