Single grain Scotch whisky aged for over half a century? Music to our ears! This is a 53 year old(!) single grain from the Girvan distillery, independently bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company! The magnificent Ryan Chetiyawardana once again appears on the label, giving Brother John Cor a lesson in using a rotovap… Batch 3 is a release of 278 bottles. ‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Girvan 53 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)
Nose: Gingerbread, lemon meringue and brioche dipped in coffee. White chocolate-coated raisins and a subtly floral hint of elderflower.
Palate: Soft and creamy, with mouthwatering vanilla taking centre stage. Hints of plum, cardamom and fried banana in the background.
Finish: Cola cubes, old oak and a pinch of cocoa.
