This well-sherried Glenallachie was distilled back in 2007, and placed straight into a single refill Pedro Ximénez sherry cask. Over a decade later, Adelphi cracked open the cask and bottled the single malt at 12 years old, yielding 621 bottles at cask strength, 59.7% ABV.
Nose: Red fruit, toffee popcorn, chocolate and ginger biscuits and macaroons.
Palate: Date sweetness and orange marmalade, with spicy oak and bittersweet dark chocolate.
Finish: Dry cinnamon spice cinnamon and sherried dried fruits.
