An outrageously well-aged single grain whisky from Invergordon, independently bottled by Thompson Bros.! Distilled in 1974, it spent nearly five decades in a single refill barrel. Eventually it was bottled at 46 years old in celebration of the Dornoch Castle Whisky Bar’s 20th anniversary, with 136 bottles released at 48.4% ABV.
Nose: Dates, hazelnuts, caramel and chocolate digestives.
Palate: Maltesers, good quality coffee, layers of honey and baking spices.
Finish: Marmalade, chocolate biscuits again and just a hint of pineapple.
