Although not distilled at Stitzel Weller like earlier Presidential Select releases, this bourbon was produced from 15 lots of whiskey aged 21 to 24 years old! Once blended, these translated to 2,000 cases of the finished Jefferson’s with plenty of oak influence that had been allowed to develop in a cooler area of the warehouse where it matured.
Nose: Rich toffees and wood spice straying into pleasant leather notes from the long ageing.
Palate: Plenty of oak influence, honeycomb, walnut, polish, but sweet vanilla, lime and rye spice keep things on track.
Finish: Very long with perfumed, fragrant caramels.
