It’s the third release in Douglas Laing’s Old Particular Consortium of Cards series – The Crackerjack! This is a 28 year old single grain from the closed Port Dundas distillery, which was filled into a refill hogshead in October 1988 and bottled in August 2017. 290 bottles were produced. Only one more bottling in the range remains for 2017 – we can only hope that one day they release more after that so we can get a full house!
Nose: Almond-topped pastries, lemon tart and a light touch of Christmas cake.
Palate: Unsweetened coffee, pecan pie and chocolate brownie.
Finish: A few oak-y notes poke out between waves of hazelnut cream and molasses.
