A single cask bottling from The English range produced by St. George’s Distillery, and a very impressive one indeed. It was fully matured in a Portuguese Cabernet Sauvignon wine cask for 11 years – from June 2007 to August 2018. Following that, it was bottled at cask strength (a generous 56.8% ABV) with an outturn of only 311 bottles.
Nose: Pomander, red grape, malty chocolate biscuits, rye and caraway.
Palate: Orange oil, raspberry and red apple. A good whack of nutmeg and five-spice follow on.
Finish: Punchy peppercorn and damson jam.
