Elijah Craig certainly know how to create superb small-batch, cask strength Kentucky bourbon! This Barrel Proof edition was bottled at 62.1% ABV (making it one of the lighter expressions from this range, believe it or not), so you’ll probably need to add a drop of water if you want to fully enjoy this beauty.
Nose: Lots of creamy vanilla, maple butter and candy corn sweetness are able to penetrate the spirit’s high ABV, alongside a little oak spice and sawdust.
Palate: Plenty of heat and drying oak lead. A touch of browning apples and orange peel emerge among rich rye spice and a helping of cinnamon.
Finish: A firm toasted oak note lingers alongside a little wood spice.
