A smoky Highland single malt from Ardmore, distilled in 1998. The whisky was matured in a refill bourbon hogshead for over two decades, until Thompson Bros. independently bottled it at 21 years. The cask yielded 256 bottles at cask strength, a hearty 51.5% ABV.
Nose: Tinned pears, fragrant peat smoke and oaky vanilla, with a sea breeze running through.
Palate: Mineral seaweed notes, sweet nectarine, more peat smoke and a crack of pepper.
Finish: Orchard fruit lingers alongside a beach bonfire.
