A combination of oak hogsheads and sherry butts are responsible for this release in the Elements of Islay series, distilled over at Caol Ila! Just 1,060 bottles were released at a warming cask strength of 54.6% ABV, so expect ample helping of chilli spice and coastal smoke.
Nose: Paprika and chilli spice, with barbecue sauce and smoky black pepper. Dark chocolate and lime peel in support.
Palate: Oak char and smooth praline leads into savoury spicy notes, with peppercorns and a pinch of rock salt, alongside summer berry sweetness.
Finish: Salty smoke and chilli pepper warmth lingers.
