A delicious, approachable blended Scotch whisky from the folks at Compass Box. The Great King Street range takes its name from their Edinburgh offices. The blend features Clynelish malt matured in first fill bourbon hogshead, a Highland malt blend aged in custom toasted new French oak barrels, malt from Linkwood matured in a sherry butt and a large proportion of Cameronbridge grain whisky aged in first fill American oak barrels. Artist’s Blend is incredibly enjoyable neat and works great in cocktails too. Win/Win! This is the 70cl bottling.
Compass Box Great King Street – Artist’s Blend 70cl
Nose: Sweet and creamy, with lots of cereal notes, some vanilla, dried fruits, citrus and apple crumble.
Palate: A gentle, creamy whisky, which develops a great deal of richness. Notes of Christmas spices, lemon, buttery apple crumble, Bakewell tart, rose petals and raisins.
Finish: Rich and sweet, with a long finish which tails off with notes of quince jelly, shortbread and spices.
