The second blend from Forest Whisky, a very interesting dram. The blended malt has been aged in 50 year old Oloroso sherry casks at the distillery in the Peak District, bottled at 47% ABV. As always with Forest Whisky blends, the fabulous porcelain packaging is glazed with real gold, with only 200 bottles produced.
Nose: Chocolate covered almonds, toffee and lemon curd.
Palate: Chocolate butter icing, toffee apple and sweet tropical fruits alongside herbaceous undertones and a crack of black pepper, with malt cereal notes in support.
Finish: Freshly cut grass and melted dark chocolate intertwine on the finish.
