A limited edition release from Douglas Laing, presented as part of La Maison du Whisky’s 60th Anniversary celebration – it’s Old Big Peat! This cracking blended malt is made with a selection of older Islay malts than the usual , and it’s also been bottled at 50% ABV.
Nose: Smoky black tea leaves, gingerbread, ripe pear and sea salt.
Palate: Lemon peels, honey, more sea salt and hints of oatcakes. A little bit of chocolate truffle in here too.
Finish: Camphor, tobacco, anise and light caramel.
