25 year old single grain Scotch whisky from the closed Port Dundas distillery and bottled by Douglas Laing for their Clan Denny range (home to many excellent indie single grains). This one was drawn from a single refill hogshead, which was filled in 1990.
Nose: Light and sweet with icing sugar and lemongrass. Touches of juicy strawberries in the summer.
Palate: More of those strawberries! Spice begins to appear too, but this is an enjoyably sweet whisky at heart.
Finish: Boiled sweets with a whisper of refined oak and vanilla.
