A 28 year old single malt from Tamdhu in Speyside, bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company. The label features Prince Saladin, shadow-boxing in the moonlight – a reference to Tamdhu’s saladin box which it used (for quite a while indeed) to malt its barley. Batch 2 is a release of 51 bottles. ‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Tamdhu 28 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)
Nose: Stewed apples and pears, topped with loads of honey and cinnamon.
Palate: Crumbly pastry, buttered scones, more ripe apple notes and now a hint of blackberry.
Finish: White pepper and oak warmth, balanced by tangy dark fruit.
