Here we have an eight year old peated expression of English whisky from, surprise, The English Whisky Co.! After distillation at St George’s in July 2010, the whisky rested in American oak bourbon casks until it was hand bottled in 2018. A well-balanced peated whisky.
Nose: Sweet peat and spicy ginger cake, with thyme, sage and mint.
Palate: Sweet vanilla and spices, followed by dry, rich peat, with continued herbal notes alongside floral Parma Violet sweeties.
Finish: Long and dry with prominent oak spice.
