An awesome Ardmore, which, during its nine years of ageing, spent seven years in a bourbon hogshead, with another two years spent in a 55 litre Oloroso sherry cask, for a wonderful balance of smoky, creamy and fruity flavours. It was finally bottled by The Sipping Shed at cask strength, with a super limited 72 bottles weighing in at 55.5% ABV.
Nose: Maple-glazed cured meats, with smoky oak, fruity, jammy sherry, a touch of pineapple and buttery caramel.
Palate: Sweet malt, fruitcake and sherry-soaked dried fruit, with earthy peat and oak char, alongside creamy caramel.
Finish: Smoky, jammy and just a hint of toffee.
