Single malt from the Auchroisk Distillery, matured in a single cask for quarter of a century! In 1994, this whisky was placed into a refill hogshead and set aside to slumber for 25 years, then bottled at 41.5% ABV with an outturn of 241 bottles. Yet another tasty expression from Douglas Laing’s Xtra Old Particular range.
Nose: On the nose expect, damp wood, foraged fruits, juicy barley and gentle spices.
Palate: The palate gives an abundance of creamy toffee alongside, vanilla, nutmeg and distant pear drops.
Finish: The finish is succulent with, ginger sponge cake, almond biscuits and coconut covered dark chocolate.
